I posted a note on BLOOD the other day to which I didn't get much response, yet I can't help but continue to consider it. I used KLIC as my example, where I asked something like--

we all recognize that there will be a long time of reorganizing. Is it possible that, during that time, science will have outstripped technology so that today's products will no longer be viable? What if, for instance, chips are all bumped by the time we get rolling again, and nobody wants old bonders? If KLIC continues to spend on R&D, they could run out of money before their ship comes in. If not, they could be stuck with old technology?

Do you worry about such possibilities?
