And, as anyone who has been in tech stocks for the past couple of years knows, there are these 20% oscillations up and down, following a relatively steep overall curve upwards.
Occasionally, one of the issues doesn't recover with the rest (like Micron, which lagged chip manufacturers) but almost everything keeps going up, eventually. Timing the Nasdaq is really tricky, though. Averaging buys over time seems to work best for me.
Also, I've had TERRIBLE luck selling in fear during December then trying to buy back in January. Since I've sold later than most, I have to wait my 30 days, and at around 20 days wait I see everyone else buying back in. Then I buy in, anyway, lose the tax write off, and 3 or 4 points of run up.
