I'm about 7 episodes into the first year of "Boss" and in some ways I like it better than "House of Cards". It seems more realistic and Chicago politics being what it is, dirtier than Washington stuff. Also, the cast of characters are quite good--better than in "House....." as they seem more experience near and though just as dominated by the "Boss", there is less Shakesperean qualities that for me started to become annoying in the second year. I'm wondering what happened to the series Boss after the second year that caused the station to cancel it. I'm wondering if the hype about "House..." frightened them and they decided that they couldn't compete. I will do some more research.

Just discovered this article. Pretty interesting.
