Stock trend of up or down is usually flat in between. Change of direction is slow, unless extradinary news is released. The way to look at breakout and breakdown is wait until the flat portion of the curve is breakout or breakdown before investing. Otherwise you are tied down with your cash stuck in the no man's zone. Amateurs got too anxious, and want to predict the flat part of the curve, can not succeed in investment.
