Our thinking is evolved from that of chimps which is evolved from other mammals. Nothing special... just evolution at work. We don't feed squirrels at the National park because that makes the squirrel population dependent on humans and that weakens the squirrel population. My observations suggest that behavior is true for all mammals... including humans. MM's point about work and incentive is simply a fact of life.
