I wouldn't give a damn about religion if I didn't feel it imperials the survival of the human species. Look at how the folks in many very religious communities fight education and science, or just don't value it. Global warming, over population and pollution is going to do us in if we don't gain control of it and the only large group that seems to be on board with doing something about it is the scientists; and they are horrified by what they see.
