They have monster social programs: free education all the way to a PHD and even subsidies. Universal health care. They educate most of their population. Few rich or poor and a huge middle class. High taxes they use to manage society for the good of the majority.<

They also use a tax base called VAT/GST where EVERYONE PAYS their share based on consumption.
You get paid under the table in CASH. You still pay and the government collects taxes at the cash register. People want to be "Just like the those "Advanced Countries" with Monster Social Programs, but don't want the taxing policies, immigration policies, etc. which enables these "Advanced Counties" to provide it.

You can't have your cake, and eat it too.
