Of course they want to raises taxes. BUT I believe they want to do this by eliminating loopholes. They can very effectively bring in more tax revenue if they lower the tax rate and close more loopholes. As to Unions; Unions membership will increase if conditions within businesses get worse. Working conditions. It use to be when a business was the only job in town and conditions were awful - long days and unsafe working environment - there was every need for Unions. Today, not so much. You don't like your job you are free to leave and get a job someplace else. ........Unions down fall came when they mass padded their retirement coverage to ridiculous and unsustainable amounts. Now municipalities are scrambling to figure out how to cover those obligations. Bankruptcy is a poor solution, I think you will agree.
