I htink taht's always the greatest danger: you think you know waht you're doing, and tehn some unexpected event makes it clear you don't. Or don't know enough.

And other people don't know either. As I said, my broker didn't, nor did his partner B, who trades quite a lotta options. In fact B refused to believe it, until he had a look at Characteristics and Risks. I suspect the finance biz is FULL of people who don't know this, and should it ever happen their screams'll be heard round the world.

But of course taht wouldn't precipitate a market collapse; it'd just piss traders off bigtime. But on a national scale being unaware of (or ignoring) the possible consequences of your actions can lead to cosmic unpleasantness, as the Asians are now discovering...
