7/11/14 Contest update
Not unlike Brazil’s World Cup team, Contest portfolios got badly blitzed early in the week. And at Friday’s close the Contest median was now up just 3.49% YTD (vs. up 11.85% YTD a week ago). The broader indexes also had a hard time, with the Nasdaq Biotech Index up 13.50% YTD (vs. up 17.30% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index up 5.72% YTD (vs. up 7.41% YTD a week ago).
DEWDIL’s portfolio, up 52.38% YTD, took a hit along with other Contest portfolios but still managed to hold on to first place. DOUGH’s portfolio, up 44.20% YTD remained in second place and WATCHIT’s portfolio, up 36.57% YTD, moved into third place.
At Friday's close, 28 of the 46 Contest portfolios were in the black, while a mere 14 of the 46 were beating the NBI. The median Contest portfolio stock (CVD) is down -2.87% YTD.
