"Gladys Chinoy, a 14-year-old from Guatemala, said, "the United States is giving us a great opportunity because now, with this new law, we don't have to try to cross the desert where so many people die. We can hand ourselves over directly to the authorities."
Chinoy's illegal immigrant mother, who is in New York, told the Associated Press that she sent for her daughter because she has heard "if she gets across she can stay here, that's what you hear."
"Now they say that all children need to do is hand themselves over to the Border Patrol," she said.
They go across the boarder and then walk down the boarder road until they find a Boarder Patrol agent.
Some do it in front of Boarder Patrol Officers. The officers are not going to shoot at them crossing the boarder. all they can do is give them a lift to a shelter with Free Food and Water, and basic health care. Which is better than what they got on the other side of the boarder in Mexico. It's "Catch and Release" at it's finest. Except you don't need a fishing pole. You just extend your net and they jump into it. After some basic processing, it's off to a Free Jet plane flight to San Diego, where the bus is awaiting their arrival to shuttle them to the local processing center, where they are then "personally shuttled" to a relative or friend, typically also illegal.
The concept of dissuading illegal boarder jumpers is that the "Don't want to be caught, because they fear they will be repatriated. The new breed seek out the Border Patrol. |
