I'm talking strictly Federal employees.

I asked you if you think a Federal employee works "for profit". Where and when do you see the need to fire a federal employee.

Furthermore, the companies in the private sector who have done well and those that are ranked #1 by employees are those where management view the firing of an employee as the failure of management to keep employees challenged, enthused and give their best.

koan will tell you that I am not a big fan of unions either. Firing of employees, worker unions are concepts of the past and have no place in the competitive global economy of modern times. Instead the pressure is on management to perform at an exceedingly high level if their business has to survive the intense competition. So her in our world in Silicon valley we don't use "firing" as a yardstick for success.
