<Why do you say something like that? It has no relevance or logic.<
Sure it does, but perhaps a bit uncomfortable of a thought.
<I see that type of illogical thinking all the time. Where is the logic you are using to say: I am sure you would not mind using Alaska's permanent fund? <
Oh! It's not illogical. It is taking money from those that prepared, and made good decisions and distributing it to those that perhaps have not made the same preparations, and good decision making process.. For the good of everyone as a whole.
<I do not mind at all using American money and am willing to pay higher taxes<
So you don't mind using "Other Peoples Money"
<We have laws about taking in refugees. These are refugees from crime ridden countries. If you return them they might be killed. <
The US is a crime ridden country.. Ever been to Singapore? Next time you are there, ask a Taxi driver if he has ever been to the US.. They will all tell you the the US is "too dangerous"

<And If you want some of that permanent fund all you have to do it move here. We forwent that money so [our kids] could have it. It is for our kids. <
Who are "our kids"? I thought all of the children in the US were "our kids". Are the children in Mississippi less of "our kids" than the children in Alaska.
< Other states could have done that. Why didn't Texas, Oklahoma or LA save some of that oil money for [their kids]? < Hate to say this.. but that sounds like a Very Republican attitude. So let me get this straight. There are "our kids" and "their kids"? I thought we were all one big happy society, and that all of the children are "our children". Children don't know politics, do you want to punish [their children] for others poor political decisions, or we could use all the available resources to improve the lives of all the children in our society.
<And it was a bunch of hippie liberals that put that permanent fund together fighting the pubs and oil companies every step of the way. Pubs hate big government and that was a huge government program---that has worked soooo well. we pay no state taxes and give everyone over a $1,000 a year and are in better shape financially than any other state with over 50 billion invested around the world.
The revenue pays for all our social services and very fine schools.<
That's all fine, but what about the other children in our society, do you want to punish them for political decisions of others?. They don't vote, they don't understand politics. |
