No, it is just that the more we spend at the federal level, the lousier education has gotten in comparison with the rest of the developed world. If you want to talk about crazy, consider that we have left our kids a trillion dollars in debt and gotten very little for it. Since Obama took office, average college tuition is up nearly 50%, due in no small part to the existence of student loans.

Education, at the federal level, is a classic example of a failed government initiative. It can't be fixed, it needs to be killed, including the student loan program which has caused the cost of education to become an untenable proposition for all but the wealthy.
