3.36% of the CPI is consumer other and services yet today it is the service sector of out economy that you will see prices increases in and it is considered a minor part of the CPI Housing makes up 41 % . Difficulty to me in the housing market is there are so few houses that are owned outright so unlike rents which adjust with inflation if mortgage payments are used they do not adjust. It is not hard to determine the components of the CPI but I don't know exactly how housing figures are compiled. I believe inflation is much higher than stated.
