dvdw here is a small example...

Monday my Polaris pool cleaner croaked.
I took it to the 1 of the 800 stores in 35 states retailer
to see if it could be rebuilt.

Nope.
It's a 2006 model It's used up you need a new one.
$600 + tax.

I asked do you offer competitive pricing?
"not with guys in underwear selling out of their basement"

Ok

"Be careful a lot of used units are being sold as new"

I'd spent 10 minutes looking for a new one just in case.
30 minutes after I returned home I'd bought a new one in the box
for $404 all in delivered to my door by Friday.

It arrived around noon today.
With a warranty card.

Contrast...

I needed to replace my sons laptop.
A national retailer showed one online with in store availability.
I went to the local store.
The local store said we don't have it but let me check.
5 minutes later he says I can do it.
