Winner, Justin Mamis' interview in this week's Barron's is worth considering. Mamis believes we are in for the sort of "secular bear market" that came in 1974, where the market rallies just enough to raise your hopes before it heads down again with a vengeance. In this type of market even successful companies get pounded. I'd prefer that you be right, but it pays to keep an eye on broader trends that may spell big trouble.
