Jonathan, I have an undergraduate degree in liberal arts, and an MBA from one of the top schools. I daytraded equity on my own--completely independent--while I was in business school, and for a full year on my own after graduation. That was the best preparation by far. Through a connection, I then applied to my present employer and was able to start trading a list of about 30 stocks. There is an horrible dearth of information on daytrading out there...I would probably recommened "Electronic Day Trading" published by Broadway Consulting (NYC) as the best, though it is somewhat limited and I think a new edition is about to come out. I read only a few business-related publications each week...Barron's (always) on Saturday, and the WSJ and NY Times daily.
