7/18/14 Contest update
Biotech investors stopped yellen’ stretched on Friday, but still couldn’t work out all the kinks acquired earlier in the week.
At Friday’s close the Contest median was now down -1.69% YTD (vs. up 3.49% YTD a week ago), with the Nasdaq Biotech Index up 10.60% YTD (vs. up 13.50% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index actually managed a slight gain for the week and was up 6.12% YTD (vs. up 5.72% YTD a week ago).
Along with other Contest leaders, DEWDIL’s portfolio, up 45.15% YTD, lost ground for the week but remained in first place. DOUGH’s portfolio, up 38.03% YTD, and WATCHIT’s portfolio, up 28.38% YTD, held on to second and third place.
At Friday's close, just 21 of the 46 Contest portfolios were in the black, while 14 of the 46 continued to beat the NBI. The median Contest portfolio stock (GLPG.BR) is down -6.50% YTD.

Portfolio adjustments: VTUS symbol was changed to ASMB and it had a 1-5 reverse split.
