There is plenty of documentation that it WAS the case.

For example, in 1857 James Flynn (British consul in Palestine) said, "The country is in a considerable degree empty of inhabitants and therefore its greatest need is that of a body of population." There was no one there.

The Arab states today amount to more than 5 million square miles, compared with about 8,000 s/m for Israel as of 1966. Yet, the Palestinians need THIS 8.000 square miles? Because the Jews have turned it into something? Why don't they go build their own?

The answer of course is that they don't give a shit about the land. They want the Jews dead. That's it. And that, if nothing else, should provide an absolute moral impetus for supporting the Jews and opposing the Palestinians.
