Stock market near all time high, VC funding through the roof, I don't know why you say people are scared to invest. One of the side effects of excessive wealth concentration of the past couple decades is an excessive increase in rent-seeking activities such as bond investments.

Re: Death of the dollar - that book is plain wrong. So I am with you on that. But USD is going to die over the next 20 years or so and there is not much anyone can do about it. The death will be in the form of "democratization" of currency - be it through barter trades or crytocurrencies or other rising currencies. But USD has not had a real competition and it is coming.

Final note - I subscribe to "Long Wave" hypothesis which is the messier stepsister of "K-Wave" theory. So I am not expecting sudden inflation. However, I can think of realistic (though unlikely) conditions that can make the inflation rise so fast, that the Fed won't be able to keep it under control through normal quarter point hikes.
