It wasn't "ethnic cleansing". Uh, that is what you call the forcible displacement of a people from their land. That is what Israel did in 1948. All the Jews wanted was a place to live; no one else wanted it You keep making the claim that no one wanted the land. You are wrong about that. The land had been sitting there for centuries, it was crap land, and only after Israel moved in did the Arabs decide THEY had to have it. There was a population there before there were many Jews.The Ottoman Empire controlled that area for centuries. They conducted censuses. Those showed a population. It wasn't huge, but there were a significant population there for centuries.
