This isn't about two adversaries pummeling each other until only one remains standing. Rather, it's about one side — Hamas, a radical, hate-mongering terrorist group — seeking to destroy the other side, Israel, which is defending its civilian population against unprovoked rocket attacks. An intellectually honest view would recognize that if there were no rocket fire from Gaza, from which the Jewish state completely withdrew nine years ago, there would be no Israeli response. Israel yearns for peace and normalization. For Hamas, however, opposition to Israel's very existence outweighs all other concerns, including building a peaceful, economically thriving Palestinian state.
