Ron Jones & ALL - just checked the Dec8th/97 news release and you are absolutely right, it does state that "drilling is continuing within the basement gneisses to test possible extensions of the mineralization encountered in hole 97-75" (that our pots and pans assay core at 22% metal)
Wouldn't that be a hoot if after last week they's still drilling and run into some more 22% core before packing up for Santa.
So for the grand finale - been drillin all fall, got slivers of good stuff - then 1.1meter of 22% metal, got everyone excited mid-Oct, then nothing until a rumour at 3pm week ago Friday. - stock got halted at 3:30pm going straight up. - rumours later that evening about 15 meters of massive sulphides. - post prints story following Saturday (next day) about rumour leaks and investigation (blames Internet) - this fuels the fire quite a bit more, so when the stock opens on the Monday late after the confirming news release of 15 meters of massive sulphides, stock gets bid up like crazy assuming the 15 meters might grade fairly well given the previous release of 22% was also called massive sulphides. - Teck rushes core to X-ral - Jimsy has Post over to visit his 2 computers, confirm that rumour didn't start on the Internet, at least not in the SI chat group - assay comes out late Friday last, 1.13% Ni, .78% Cu average over 15 meters, not quite your 22% metals, - stock took a dive late Friday after trading resumes - Post does another story on Saturday, yesterday, "Assay results send junior miners down the shaft".
- while all this is going on, Teck may very well be drillin' off some more pots and pans cores
Actually, in addition to the above possibiity, there must be a lot of core which can be assayed and the results and implications of which can be released over what may not be a very quiet winter. I expect that there will be quite a lot of analysis and possibly some kind of presentations put together for the PDAC in March on this. If this El Nino like weather keeps the winter bit warmer, the drillers may be back there quite early at least to continue drilling in the immediate vicinity of the promising results.
So wouldn't this be sumpin ifin theys got some more pots and pans cores outa this already! |
