I am disturbed that many tend to forget that people are tired of constantly upgrading their PCs. Each upgrade costs money. We are not ready to spend $2,000 on PCs alone - every year. It is for this reason the market has preferred to accept $1000 PCs. The question is why Merced?

An analogy with the TVs - How many of us have bought digital 32 inch TVs? Did everyone upgrade to that level?

I don't see any positive news for boosting AMAT share value at this time. On the other hand, there are many negative enews. Motorola has announced about some hours ago that its's Korea sales is affected.

In the absence of any positive news, we can be thankful if the share trades between $25-30.
