Why we need universal health care.

I just got back from having a colonoscopy. They are $4,000, but medicare and VA cover them. I am sure few people even get them unless they have insurance.

They found some polyps and removed them. Might have saved my life.

That should say it all to anyone against single payer universal health care.

Do you think any insurance company is going to sell affordable health insurance to anyone who gets $4,000 colonoscopies just for prevention purposes on a regular basis? Not a chance.

And here is the part you can never seem to grasp. It is KK for society (and the young) to chip in on those things if needed.

Jared Diamond made the great point that probably the reason humans live so long, is so the old people can teach the younger people how to survive. What to eat and not to eat. Where the food is, how to stay safe and all the tricks of life.

We old people provide a needed collective history of wisdom to the tribe and it is in the tribes best interest to protect us. Not to mention it strengthens the tribes humanity which is the foundation of civilization.
