"Therefore, says Glick, Israel should assert sovereignty over the disputed territory, expel the PLO and offer citizenship to the remaining Arab residents. A one-state solution! But not the Judenrein one envisioned by Abbas, nor the one that haunts Jewish lefties in Israel (and the US) who foresee a demographic and political disaster if Israel continues to "occupy the West Bank."

Exactly. The two-state solution was a good idea, but it was rejected by the Arabs. Flat out rejected, as in "we don't want it, have no interest in it." I don't know why anyone is still pursuing the idea. It failed. Thus, my comment on pushing them into Jordan.

You cannot negotiate land with people who don't want land. What they want is dead Jews, and there is nothing else that will appease them.

The only entities still clinging to a two-state solution are Israel, because they see no other alternative short of wiping out the Arabs in the region which would leave Israel as a permanent international outcast, and various diplomats who would like to chalk up a peace agreement on their resumes.

Netanyahu is one of the most reasonable leaders in the world today, so he would never do it. But if one looks at it as a question of fairness, a single state solution makes a lot of sense. The Arabs have had plenty of time to come to terms; if they were going to do it they would have done it long ago.
