[CHAT] <..Steve, I never needed to be protected from Pat's Obvious Enthusiasm for Amati any more than I needed to be protected from your Skeptical Enthusiasm for Amati...>

I didn't think that you did, and nor do I. Did I somehow give that impression? Well let me correct it. In the forums that I post in, I post a mixture of questions, opinions and facts - or what I understand to be facts.

Sometimes my questions/opinions are about some aspect of a company, like it's products or it's finances or it's business strategy or it's competition. Sometimes it will be about ANOTHER poster's opinions or purported facts. In all of my posts, my approach is critical, and is always open to discussion. All of my questions or opinions are those that I would want answered or sounded if I myself were not posting. This is how I feel to contribute to the collective effort - intending to help others as they help me in better understanding a company.

<..Please protect me from this SteveG, PatM SOAP OPERA...>

Michael, I don't think you nor anyone need protection from anything posted here. As with everything, take what you need or feel is valuable and discard or ignore the rest.

<..What you see as Pat's offenses, virtues or hypocrisy, is a different perception from mine...>

Just as it should be...kinda like life, and hardly worthy of remark, IMO. But as everyone may find, your need to express this is fulfilled in your ability and right to do so here.

<..I appreciate her contributions, you don't seem to..>

Her contributions here are substantial - she is a super-salesperson - a well-scripted, award winning, feature-length infomercial for "her" stock/company.

I would NEVER think to not have her post, and she would be among those I would choose to gather information about a company. Her inclinations (assumedly based on her personal financial and emotional involvement) in presenting company information are to present one side of a story - HER (ie., the company's) side of the story. She is a compelling advocate and would do honor to the PR department of any company. I can certainly appreciate that.

But I have (as many have) realized that I would ALWAYS need to temper her opinions and facts with well researched counter-considerations. I do not feel she could provide a balanced perspective of any consideration in which she was financially or emotionally involved. IMO, she would be a Godsend as a partial advocate, but a nightmare as a judge.

But as far as an openness to appreciating contributions, if you would bother to read back through my posts here, you will see it has been she and her followers who have routinely attempted to censure MY opinions - by impugning my integrity and honesty through cries of my being a "short-seller" (in spite of my continued denial) and through characterizations of my being a 'proponent of disinformation'. The history of posts will bear out that for most of the vociferous here, it has been MY posts which have failed to be respected or appreciated.
And I am OK with that. This is just how a number of the vocal posters (who I call "cheerheads", for obvious reasons) in this forum have chosen to be. However, this hasn't, and wouldn't, stop me from posting as I am accustomed.

<..I would be interested in what YOU find enlightening,YOU find
interesting...>

Discussion of this would require another, more appropriate forum, but I appreciate your respect and interest in my thoughts.

<.. and YOU believe will be a winning stock...>

I post on a number of SI threads. If, in time, we found mutual interests, we might benefit from email or telephone interactions.

<.. I appreciate YOUR contributions too, but only when free of negative references directed at others...>

It is certainly a matter of taste and preference as to what one evaluates as valuable. To many, and in many other forums (SI and elsewhere), critical references directed at others' facts and opinions are an essential component to collective consideration. That this is not the history or accepted protocol for many here on the Amati thread does not compel me to change MY approach. Of course, my posts can always be (and likely have been) clicked past if/when not found to be informative or sufficiently pleasing.

<Liked your poems and insight..>

Glad that you did.

Do you know Kabir - the "ecstatic" 15th century Indian bhakti poet? (Full appreciation may require some familiarity with the period and culture, but it has always seemed to stand pretty on it's own as well):

Have you heard the music that no fingers enter into?
Far inside the house
entangled music-
What I the sense of leaving your house?

Suppose you crub your ethical skin until it shines,
but inside there is no music,
then what?

Mohammed's son pores over words and points out this,
and that,
but if his chest is not soaked dark with love,
then what?

The yogi comes along in his famous orange.
But if inside he is colorless, then what?

Kabir says: Every instant that the sun is risen,
if I stand in the temple, or on a balcony,
in the hot fields, or in a walled garde,
my own Lord is making love with me.

Or another from Rilke:

Moving Forward

The deeps parts of my life pour omward,
as if the river shores were opening out.
It seems that things are more like me now,
that I can see farther into paintings.
I feel closer to what language can't reach.
With my senses, as with birds, I climb
into the windy heaven, out if the oak,
and in the ponds broken off from the sky
my feeling sinks, as if standing on fishes.

Namaste-
