What a tragedy it is with what's been happening in Gaza AND in neighbouring areas of Israel. Innocent men, women and, WORST OF ALL, children dying.
BUT who started this unprovoked attack on Israel by firing dozens of rockets, AIMED ANYWHERE, which could have killed dozens, if not hundreds, of, likewise, INNOCENT men, women and, WORST OF ALL, children. Fortunately Israel has the in-house technical expertise to have developed a system that can blow a hostile rocket, aimed anywhere, out of the sky and so protect its citizens.
And while the world looks on with ever increasing dismay and despair at what is happening in Gaza itself, it seems to me that the peaceful future of that area of ground rests with the "Gazanians" themselves. They allow their way of life, their self determination, etc.., to be dictated to by mindless, inhuman thugs who go under the "political banner" of Hamas.
Hamas has no genuine regard for the welfare and prosperity of the citizenry within which they carry out their cowardly attacks on Israel. Do not be fooled by the crap rhetoric that emanates from Hamas "spokesmen". Hamas purposely sets up their rocket and weapon systems WELL WITHIN the Gaza community knowing full well that when Israel retaliates and does its best to be very specific when it sets out to destroy those weapon systems, that there will, unfortunately, be innocent lives lost as a system is destroyed or a high ranking Hamas individual is "removed". And when that happens Hamas spokesmen immediately get up on their world soap boxes and point accusing fingers and spit out hate speeches about attacks on innocent Palestinians. Geez.
If the people of Gaza want to live NORMAL lives in peace and prosperity then THEY THEMSELVES MUST DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY to weed out and root out the CANCER of Hamas that has established itself within their community. They must identify those individuals and export them to Israel, or wherever. They must, COLLECTIVELY REJECT Hamas hate rhetoric. They must identify tunnels, weapon systems, etc.., etc.., and invite Israel in to destroy them such that no innocent lives are lost in so doing. The people of Gaza should no longer want their lives and how they want to live their lives be dictated to and influenced by hate-mongers.
Once the likes of Hamas are dispatched to the dust bins of history, then sensible, we'll meaning individuals can sit around a table and attempt to arrive at a mutually accepted solution.
And that is not an impossible task, as long as there is a GENUINE WILL on both sides of a political divide to do just that. It was achieved, here in South Africa, with its 11 official languages and tribal groupings and diverse religions. |
