Cabletron May Announce Acquisition of Yago Systems, Paper Says

Rochester, New Hampshire, Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Cabletron
Systems Inc. may announce the acquisition of Yago Systems Inc. as
early as this week, the Boston Globe reported, citing
unidentified industry sources. Start-up Yago makes advanced
routing devices for computer systems that are speedier and cost
less than similar devices made by Cisco Systems Inc. Cabletron
doesn't make its own routers and already owns a small stake in
Sunnnyvale, California-based Yago, said the Globe, which didn't
provide any comment from the companies on the likelihood of the
transaction.

Last month, Cabletron agreed to buy Digital Equipment
Corp.'s networking equipment business for $430 million to gain
customers overseas and in the fast-growing telecommunications
market.
