I love my Kindle Fire. Lighter and smaller than a tablet - easily fits in one's purse. You can email, surf the web, stuff like that. I take it instead of a laptop on most vacations. Wifi everywhere so that is rarely a problem when you want to download. Subscribe to Book Gorilla, Bookbub and others, for your personal favorite genres, and get emailed free or extremely cheap books daily. I haven't yet subscribed to Amazon's 9.95 service because I already have Prime on Roku and too many books already on my Kindle I have yet to read.
