Jim, Bonnie's point is merely that gold is also an industrial commodity.
BTW

reflectivity + emissivity = 1.

Emissivity of gold increases from 0.01 - 0.06 as temperature increases
from 100 degrees Kelvin to 1000 Kelvin. Room temperature is about 300 Kelvin. Actually gold's emissivity is not that different form silver's, which is 0.03 at 300 K. (0.02 for gold).
