From Manhatten Bagel's press release -

"The company is pursuing a number of actions to improve its operating results. With company-owned stores identified as a major
component of the operating losses, the company has undertaken a program to sell those stores to franchisees or close them. Combined,
these locations represent approximately 9% of the Manhattan Bagel stores now in operation. Other steps being taken to restore
profitability include a downsizing of the corporate staff. The company has already completed an initial downsizing and will continue to
review staffing requirements relative to the needs of the continuing business. "

Is it ironic that Manhatten Bagels is adopting a scheme to franchise
it's Bagel stores in contrast to ENBX buying back it's stores ?

Reading ENBX's franchise circular shows up a lot of startup
costs (of which some was paid to Boston Chicken e.g. $15,000
software licensing fees) which ENBX may avoid if it the new
ENBX stores are company owned.

very long circular....

If ENBX franchise owners have been loosing money hand over fist
then how come we have'nt heard of any franchise sponsored law
suit etc. ? Also, can anyone report an ENBX store that closed down
in their area because of money trouble ?

ENBX may also have some plans to expand product line which can be
more effectively coordinated if all the stores are company owned.

I am thinking of averaging down by buying some more in Dec.
though the money may get tied for 6-months before a clearer
picture emerges.

Any opinions on averaging down or, does the stock appear to
be heading below $5 ?
