The Israeli regime is likely to face internal revolt due to its frequent onslaughts on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, a commentator tells Press TV.

“It’s very possible that change will come through Israel – through a series of revolutions that it’s going to have,” Lauren Booth told Press TV in an interview.

She added that the families of Israeli soldiers are getting worried about “what their own children are doing as soldiers in the Gaza Strip.”

She said the Zionist regime’s aggression of the besieged Gaza Strip is not limited to the resistance group Hamas, adding, “It is a war on the Palestinian people…. This is an attack on humanity; it is an attack on childhood.”

Booth also stated that Israel’s fierce attacks against the Gazans have created “appalling conditions” in the besieged enclave.

Israel has been pounding numerous sites inside the besieged Gaza Strip, killing innocent residents of the impoverished Palestinian enclave since July 8.

The Palestinian death toll from more than three weeks of aerial and ground assaults on Gaza now stands at 1,300, with more than 7,200 people wounded.

Israeli military says it has so far lost at least 53 of its troops in clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters, but Hamas says Palestinian resistance fighters have killed over 100 Israeli soldiers over the past 23 days.

Israel has kept tight reins on media outlets with regards to the exact number of Israeli soldiers captured or killed during its ongoing assault on the besieged coastal enclave.

The rising death toll of Israeli forces during the ongoing assault on Gaza Strip has prompted growing opposition to the war among the Israeli public.

On Saturday, thousands of Israelis took to the streets in Tel Aviv to condemn the incessant military strikes against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

As many as 5,000 people, mostly left-wing and anti-war activists, participated in the protest at the Rabin Square despite police calls urging the demonstrators not to attend the rally.
