All you have to do is drive through a hood or working class neighborhood in Anywhere USA to know. I deal with it all the time so I know. Yes much of it is self inflicted with poor life choices but there is way more to how we got here than just that. To many are clueless and I am not just referring to the suits, or people in the ivory tower insulated from the 'little people'. Is stunning reading the politics even on SI. From your article Christie and Emanuel seem to be two sides of the same coin which doesn't surprise me in the least. Next someone will tell me Obama is a radical marxist wealth redistributing socialist with the DOW near tripling under his watch and wealth disparity much worse than even under GWB, who I consider tied with LBJ as the worst presidents in the post WW2 period....
