Martin attacked Zimmerman.

If Martin had just said that he was staying with his father down the way there would have been no problem.

If Martin had just smacked him in the face and then left there would have been no problem.

The real problem started when Martin got on top of him and acted like he wanted to KILL him.

If you had a gun and I was on top of you smashing your head into the sidewalk you WOULDN'T try to use the gun?

If Zimmerman had been killed the headline would have been, "Neighborhood watch volunteer killed because he couldn't get to his gun."
