You have to have rules in war. In fact I would say especially in war. We used to bomb cities with abandon in war. Today we don't do that so much. Curtis Lemay's horrendous behavior would never be countenanced today. In fact our behavior in Viet Nam would not be acceptable today, I think, I hope. We must always strive for humanity whenever we can. And we should never let the junk yard right wing drag us down to their level. <<I am not saying that the United States was wrong in using every weapon available to win the war. I am saying that if one is engaged in war that they should do whatever it takes to win and that there are no rules. If you add rules then war becomes a sporting event like football.>>
