| | | the reasons the brush paintings are more taxing in terms of focus / concentration and elapsed time (especially if one's talent is wanting) are that
- the uncluttered image bears no particular relationship to any actual object and is mostly in mind's eye - even if one had an animal or flower in front of one, one would still have to visualize the object in essentially digital terms - the absence of colour and the blob of colour, and if really good, perhaps a shading of sort
- the use of ink applied by brush allows for essentially no mistakes - either ink is supposed to be somewhere on paper or not, and little / no chance to cover up mistakes (or simply have the muted mistake left as a part of a cluttered painting)
what i find almost unfathomable is the mind's eye - i can do mind's eye on numbers, even spreadsheets, and such, and photographs. i cannot do cats by mind's eye, and certainly find the attitude / emotion (the thing with the eyes) impossible for me and ought to be difficult for enough others
am told that when the times comes if ever, the coconut would find landscapes a much simpler art, water colour doable, and oil paintings a cake
am simply happy that erita really loves certain activities and spends time of volition on the activities, which for long awhile has been reading, ballet, brush calligraphy and brush painting
she experienced piano, gymnastics, ice skating and flute |
