Meanwhile, Apple had a relatively strong performance with its shipments growing 58% on year in the second quarter in China.
The bears have a tough time with what Apple is doing in China. 58% growth in a seasonally weak quarter for Apple flies in the face of flawed arguments that Apple can't compete against the wide array of cheap smartphones. Functional differentiation and premium brand equity continue to add value to consumers for which the quid pro quo is higher margins.
