Wrong. Plenty of businesses get started with no outside investors. Think Apple. If there is demand, someone will fill it.

Lots of things drive innovation, money is just one of the factors. Much of the economy doesn't get driven by innovation, anyway. Innovation can help, but people have to eat, have a place to live, etc.
