Gee, Bentway, ya got me there....
That was the whole point to the two state solution that UN devised in 1948. Everyone knew that the Arabs and the Jews couldn't live peacefully in the same state, that in fact they didn't want to live in the same state, they all wanted their own traditions and culture.
Has the Knesset ever decided something in favor of the Arabs in it?
I don't know about the Knesset, but the judiciary used to decide in favor of Arabs back in the 50s and 60s. Before the '67 war and even until the '73 war. Continuous wars have damaged the Israeli psyche, which was already fragile after WWII. I don't doubt that. But Arabs have had far more rights in Israel than Jews had in Arab countries. That is for sure. Of course, it isn't a problem now, since there are only a few hundred to a few thousand of them left in any given Arab country. I note that no one bothers to mention that.
I don't mind criticisms of Israel as long as the criticism is balanced with criticism of Hamas, Hezbollah, and those like them. As long as the criticism is fair. But when people act like the only guilty party is Israel and apply outrageous double standards, it is absurd. Every bit as absurd as Republicans blaming everything on Obama. Of course, I have heard one of the replies to that--in effect, it goes "Oh, the Israelis kill so many more Pals than Pals kill Israelis." It isn't because they don't try to kill more. |
