I think you're missing the point. The point is that if you want serious economic growth you have to have investment. Not just in startups, but ready capital markets.

Which is one of the reasons, too, that the corporate income tax should be totally eliminated. The surge in economic growth alone would more than cover the loss of 200B/y in federal revenue. I'm not trying to change the subject, but just pointing out that there is no more important resource than investment capital when it comes to economic growth.

Look at EMI's fiddle farting with CT. They didn't have the capital to do it right. So, GE took it and turned it into a huge enterprise. This is the difference between having access to investment capital and not having it.

There is no more important factor in starting a business than having adequate capital. I don't know the current stats, but 20 years ago 90% of businesses failed within three years, and a sampling of those found that the key reason for the failures was inadequate capital. I would think it has to be even worse now.
