Reagan does get credit after that for job creation. The huge difference in this between Reagan and Obama is that Reagan added hugely to government jobs, while during Obama's recovery from recession, there has been a large decrease in government jobs. This is both fed + states, so... BTW, Calculatedrisk has some nice charts on this issue.
