What I say is that it is absolutely unfair to expect that any President can turn around an economy in a few short months - especially if it is going rapidly one way or the other. If you are saying that Obama has done a great job at job creation, then why in the world would we need a stimulus that was three times that which Obama enacted. Since Obama accomplished this turn around and job creation - he deserves credit. I agree with that. .........Since the downturn was housing related - isn't Obama's accomplishment even more spectacular? I think so since it is nuts to think we can turn housing on and off again on a whim.

Now Reagan; after two years of a Volker led intended recession - to break the back of inflation - Reagan for the next six years created good job numbers for every one of those years. NOT ONLY that, but the following year was also a decent job created year. So Reagan gets that one too. Take a ruler and place it on the jobs created during the Carter administration and do the same for the Reagan administration. One is going very steeply down and one is going very steeply up. Which is better - job creation getting consistently worse by a lot or job creation getting consistently better?
