I don't agree. We don't need Americans to do jobs that machines can do, jobs that do not need creativity and does not keep our minds and lives challenged. Those jobs that you talk about are the types of jobs the Communist regime in China want their folks to do e.g. assemble iPhones and iPads. On the other hand, we want Americans to have jobs that innovate, design newer versions of iPhone etc. conduct frontline research such as finding a cure for Ebola or a cure for say pancreatic cancer etc. And we can only do so if we educate our people, provide them with a clean and healthy environment so that they do not fall sick very often etc. Our Govt. should tax the 1% and divert those tax revenues to good education, scholarships, intervention programs etc. That is the key to prosperity And jobs that result from a good education demand high wages and with higher wages we can afford to have good social programs further. So because of her social consciousness, I will have to side with your niece. I also commend you for being the uncle of such a wonderful person and I hope her husband will quit telling his children that "conservatives" are bad people.
