>> inode, I know you're a sharp gentleman and I find it hard to believe that you think so highly of Bush.

I'm shocked anyone would have preferred Obama over Bush to be in office on 9/11. Seriously. Bush handled the situation impeccably. Now, one can argue about Iraq, I understand the argument. But it was my opinion that Saddam should have been removed during the 90s when he failed to comply with the terms of the cease fire. It was a mistake for Clinton to have allowed that to drag on all those years; you can't establish boundaries then allow them to be broken time and again without serious repercussion.

I supported the Iraq War from the outset and believe, even today, given the circumstances we faced at that time, the war was the correct decision. So, my primary complaint with Bush was over his mistaken attempts to negotiate with the likes of Ted Kennedy (over Education). But Bush had been used to working with people like Bob Bullock, who was about getting the job done first and politics second. Still, I think that is a natural learning process. And we would be far better off today had Bush's Social Security agenda been enacted.

Mostly, though, I tend to focus on competence and integrity -- and Bush brought both of those into office with him. I would argue he had both to an extreme. Barack Obama has neither of those attributes, and had he been president on 9/11 he would not have had the good sense to act to prevent future attacks. He is simply too weak.
