He began his career at the tiny newspaper (now almost defunct) in the town I live in. He is neither liberal nor conservative. He is about as straight down the middle as any reporter in the business. Which has been the subject of some criticism directed at him by the run-of-the-mill liberal nutjob reporters who are so prevalent.
