Valence PR is improving! I received a call-back from DA at my request. He was very polite and considerate, considering that I was probably his 100th person he talked to this weekend. Basically confirmed what everyone else on this and the AOL thread has been saying, and that is production is still on schedule.
IMO, Valence is in the business of making batteries, not guiding their stock price. While I feel comforted to have actually talked to a company spokesperson (gives it reality), I'd suggest that the rest of us refrain from calling the company. Upon reflection, we all made a risk in investing in VLNC. Stock prices go up, and they go down. The fact that the recent price decline hasn't been accompanied by anything else other than Cal's departure, it's my speculation that there is nothing else out there and that the price decline has been a result of nervous nellies selling, margin calls, and overall uncertainty in Korea. But, fundamentally, the company appears to be sound and still on schedule. Remember, "on-schedule" this time around doesn't mean fulfilling an OEM commitment. It means to be able to mass produce. They're trying to get down production first, then take orders.
Good luck. |
