Dear New Feature Discussion participants, An big update was rolled out this evening. This post in not a comprehensive list of fixes and improvements.
  - The Subject page has received an overhaul. Your feedback on the new look is welcome.
  Moderators of all SI boards may upload a logo that represents their message board. For example, the Cisco board moderator might choose to select the Cisco corporate logo as the logo for that discussion board. Creation of new message boards requires that a board logo be provided as part of the process. Modifications to existing SI boards also requires a board logo if one has not already been provided. We ask that moderators find a representative logo they like for their message board and update the subject with the logo. Soon, these logos (or smaller versions thereof) will come to visually represent your board on other parts of SI, for example, on the SI home page or in search results.
  On the Subject page, if "Show Introductory Post" for that board is your setting, the introduction is now (nonetheless) automatically suppressed when you select "Previous 50 / Next 50". It is assumed if you've seen the introduction, you don't need to see it again repeatedly while scrolling back or forwards in time. The exception is when you scroll forward and reach most recent page of message summaries; the Introduction is again shown as a visual queue that you've reached the top. The navigation target anchor when you select "Previous 50 / Next 50" is set such that the message list will appear above the fold for typical browser window dimensions.
    - Any time a moderator changes the introductory post for a subject, the "Hide Introduction" flags for all board followers are now reset. Generally speaking, if a moderator changes a board's Introductory message, she or he wants the board participants to be aware of that message. We hope this might encourage Moderators to update board Introductory post content with greater regularity, polls, breaking news, etc. The “Posts” link in the board summary panel navigates past the introduction to the message list, regardless of the length of the introductory message.
  - The Search menu has been improved. If you are wondering where the "Search this subject" input box has gone to, it has gone to the search menu, appearing there now not only when you are on the Subject page itself, but also now when on the pages related to a subject - for example when reading posts, replies or viewing groups of posts for a topic.
  - Portfolios now include portfolio news; headlines related to the holdings within that portfolio.
  Regards,
  @Dima |
