While the World Health Organization launched Friday, August 8, a global alert by declaring a state of global health emergency against the killer virus, I have an emergency alert the Minister of Social Affairs and Health on cases reported in France Ebola virus.
Indeed, the epidemic has claimed nearly 1,000 lives since the beginning of the year and continues to grow with now four homes in West Africa: Guinea, which closed Saturday some of its borders, and the Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria, where the public health emergency was declared.
Madam Minister recently said that the risk of importing the virus in Europe and France was weak, adding that no imported cases had also been reported. According reliable medical sources, several cases have been reported on French territory.
So I asked the Minister today, in a written question to be published in the Official Journal in the coming days, kindly tell me how many cases with Ebola virus have so far been identified in France as well as the import area. I also asked him, in light of the reported cases in France, a broader information on the symptoms of the disease and on how to follow in case of suspicion of infection, is in place as soon as possible.
In view of the urgency of this inquiry, I hope to get a quick response from Ms. Minister.
